"Uncommon Ground" Opening Reception

Western will be hosting an Opening Reception for its newest art exhibit, "Uncommon Ground: 47 Contemporary Artists Working in Clay."
 

The exhibit was curated by juror Peter Callas, and features the work of prominent wood firing ceramic artists from around the country.
 

Peter Callas is a world-renowned ceramic with many of his own works in private collections and museums. When speaking of his selection for the exhibit Callas stated, "They were selected for their artistic merit, creative-minded spirit, and unique approach to the material as well as their intangible quality of a strong visual presence."

The reception will include a screening of a documentary about Callas and his work. Most excitingly Callas will be on hand for the opening reception and screening!
